About the Role

Magna Mechatronics, Mirrors & Lighting is seeking a Commodity Manager to join our team in Wuppertal. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing commodity groups and creating calculations for various business cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage commodity groups independently and create calculations for different business cases
  • Develop and analyze requests, compare offers, and conduct supplier assessments
  • Oversee budgets for components, tools, and services
  • Negotiate prices independently with suppliers
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure quality and technical requirements are met
  • Manage the sourcing process, including supplier nomination and selection
  • Procure tools and prototypes, ensuring timely delivery to customers
  • Monitor and control costs for components, tools, and services
  • Optimize the supplier structure within commodity groups

Requirements

  • Completed degree in a business-related field or equivalent qualification
  • Several years of experience in procurement, preferably in the automotive or supplier industry
  • Strong knowledge of international procurement standards and various manufacturing processes
  • Proven project experience is essential
  • Proficient in MS Office tools and excellent IT skills, preferably in INFOR or SAP
  • Excellent German and English language skills, both written and spoken
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills and independent, structured work style
