Institutional Supervisor

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled Corrections Sergeant to join our team. As a key member of our institutional team, you will be responsible for providing first-line supervision to Corrections Officers and Trainees, ensuring a safe and secure environment.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and monitor staff on assigned shifts to maintain a safe and secure environment
- Communicate effectively with management, staff, visitors, inmates, and the public
- Lead and counsel staff to ensure a productive workforce
- Complete required training and maintain a working knowledge of correctional policies and procedures
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Working knowledge of correctional policies and procedures
- Ability to read and comprehend workplace policies and procedures
- Ability to prepare workplace reports and documentation
- Previous supervisory experience
- Ability to produce written reports using a computer
- Fluency in Spanish
