The Ministry of Defence is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Funds Accountant to join our team in Germany. As an IMPREST Operator, you will be responsible for managing the financial hub within the Army Garrison, ensuring the smooth operation of public funds and providing financial support to visiting units.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the IMPREST/COM and associated bank account, ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions.
- Coordinate and lead a small team to provide Firm Base and Host Nation services to the wider garrison community.
- Assist in the management of the administration department, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and policies.
- Provide financial guidance and support to team members, ensuring they are proficient in financial procedures and regulations.
- Develop and implement financial instructions and briefings to support unit/group deployments.
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions, including Concessionary Travel Forms, Home to Duty Travel, and Child Education Allowance registers.
- Provide advice on the Armed Forces Pension Scheme and Armed Forces Compensation Scheme, and sign-post on external professional financial advice.
- IMPREST qualified.
- Full and valid driving licence.
- Experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of financial regulations and policies.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
