About the Job

We're seeking a skilled Backend Developer to join our partner company and contribute to the development of their backend IT strategies.

In this role, you'll focus on the new and further development of the platform, collaborating with the team to conceptualise new backend components.

Our partner company is a dynamic firm revolutionising the book industry through self-publishing platforms, blending the agility of a startup with the backing of an established firm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and enhance our partner company's new platform using Symfony, API Platform, MySQL, and Kubernetes/Rancher.
  • Collaborate with the team to conceptualise new backend components and ensure compliance with coding guidelines.
  • Maintain and improve the existing backend tech stack, including Symfony and Zend.
  • Engage in continuous personal development through training, research, and team collaboration.
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of PHP 8 and frameworks, ideally Symfony and/or API Platform.
  • Proficient in server-side debugging and experience with version control systems (Git).
  • Understanding of unit testing and a commitment to maintainable, readable code.
  • Comfortable working with Linux and experience with agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Independent work style and openness to new technologies.
  • Friendly and motivated team player with excellent communication skills in German.

Please note that we are looking for support in Germany for our partner company, and eligibility to work within the EU is required.
