Junior Professorship in Political Economy of Governance in Non-Democratic Regimes

Job Description

We are seeking a highly qualified economist to fill a junior professorship in the field of political economy of governance in non-democratic regimes. The successful candidate will be responsible for research and teaching in this area and will contribute to the development of the economic policy debate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in applied microeconomics and governance, with a focus on non-democratic regimes
  • Teach courses in political economy and economic history of governance
  • Contribute to the development of the economic policy debate through publications and outreach activities
  • Participate in international research networks and collaborate with researchers at the Kiel Institute
Requirements
  • PhD in economics or a related field
  • Strong research background in applied microeconomics and governance
  • Excellent teaching skills and experience
  • Ability to publish in top international journals and contribute to the economic policy debate
Working Conditions

The junior professorship will be filled according to the Jülich model, which involves a full-time assignment to the Kiel Institute and a reduced teaching load at the Faculty of Business, Economics, and Social Sciences of Kiel University.
