Research Assistant Position at Weierstraß-Institut für Angewandte Analysis und Stochastik

We are seeking a highly motivated and outstanding researcher to join our team as a Research Assistant in Applied Mathematics. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mathematical analysis and a Ph.D. degree in mathematics.

The position involves conducting research in the field of partial differential equations (PDEs) and their subsequent analysis. The candidate will be responsible for implementing numerical discretizations and conducting simulation studies in collaboration with external partners.

We are looking for a motivated researcher with a strong interest in applied mathematics, especially applied analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in at least three of the following areas:

  • Analysis of nonlinear PDEs
  • Calculus of Variations
  • Variational methods for problems with multiple scales
  • Consistent modeling in continuum mechanics
  • Pattern formation and phase transitions

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on interdisciplinary projects with external partners from physics, biology, or engineering.
