Software Developer Operations Research

In our modern, integrated steel mill, we produce a wide range of steel products and formats in multiple production stages around the clock. To support production planning and logistics with mathematical models, we are looking for a Software Developer (m/w/d) Operations Research in the area of Models and Simulations within our main area of Automation, Industrial IT and Models.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development, maintenance, and improvement of optimization models, such as production planning for production facilities
  • Identification and implementation of requirements, as well as error correction for production planning models in collaboration with facility operators
  • Direct contact with software users or customers
  • Collaboration with similar departments for the area of Models and Simulations in the European corporate environment

Requirements:

  • Completed studies in Mathematics, Computer Science, Natural Sciences, or Engineering (Diploma or Master)
  • Knowledge and experience in mathematical modeling, knowledge of discrete optimization or metaheuristics, or experience with mathematical solvers is an advantage
  • Sound knowledge of object-oriented programming, preferably in C#, C++
  • Practical English skills in writing and speaking
  • Abstraction ability, excellent communication and presentation skills, as well as team skills
  • High level of independence and initiative
