About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our team at Ratepay GmbH. As a key member of our data science team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our fraud prevention and credit risk assessment capabilities.

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be responsible for researching, developing, and deploying advanced machine learning algorithms into production. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and ensure that our solutions are scalable and reliable in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the research and development of advanced machine learning models for credit risk assessment and fraud prevention.
  • Own data science projects end-to-end, from ideation and proof of concept to bringing it into production.
  • Develop and maintain production-level codebases, adhering to best engineering practices for data processing, model development, and deployment.
  • Pre-process complex financial data and create ETL pipelines to support machine learning models.
  • Collaborate closely with team members and cross-functional teams to develop robust machine learning solutions.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience working with the whole data science product cycle: conception, research, prototyping, modeling, deployment to production.
  • Master's degree in a STEM field.
  • Strong engineering skills in Python, with familiarity with clean code, unit testing, and type hints.
  • General understanding of SQL and SQL databases, with the ability to retrieve data and build data pipelines.
  • Advanced knowledge of statistical learning theory and its application to solve real-world problems.
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to clearly present ideas, solutions, and findings.
