About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data & Analytics Engineer to join our central data team at Statista. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in transforming and managing data, ensuring its quality, and facilitating its accessibility for various business needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Translate business requirements into data model designs, leveraging your expertise in data transformation and modeling with DBT.
  • Create and manage data models in DBT using SQL, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Develop and optimize ELTs to integrate new data sources and enhance data management in the data warehouse (DWH).
  • Collaborate with data analysts on ad-hoc modeling using DBT, driving business insights and decision-making.
  • Assist in data analyst onboarding for DWH, providing support for provisioning cloud resources.
Requirements
  • Proficient in SQL, with experience in query optimization and query tuning.
  • Ability to fetch and prepare data using Python & SQL, with familiarity with data ingestion from APIs, databases, and external sources.
  • Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including services like Redshift, S3, EC2, and ECS.
  • Knowledge of best practices for data storage, security, and scalability on AWS.
  • Proficiency in using Terraform to define and provision cloud infrastructure (AWS resources).
  • Implementation of CI/CD pipelines for seamless software development and deployment.
