We're seeking a highly skilled Optical Systems Manager to join our team in Berlin-Adlershof (TechCenter). As a key member of our Optical Communications segment, you will play a critical role in driving innovation and growth in the field of semiconductor lithography optics.

About the Role:

We're looking for a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of optical systems and semiconductor lithography applications. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing and maintaining relationships with strategic customers, identifying new opportunities, and driving business growth. You will be responsible for:

  • Developing a deep understanding of semiconductor lithography applications and roadmaps, with a focus on optical elements and assemblies for deep-UV and Extreme-UV lithography systems.
  • Establishing and maintaining technical relationships with strategic customers, initiating collaborative efforts, and providing relevant insights for internal Product Line Plans and Business Technology Strategy.
  • Delivering annual semiconductor lithography system understanding and roadmaps, including insights into lithography system optical designs, definition of critical product attributes, and first-principle understanding of optical aberrations and distortions.
  • Engaging with outside semiconductor lithography system experts, conducting optical modeling studies, authoring technical papers, and promoting Semiconductor Technologies & Solutions capabilities in technical conferences/journals.
  • Supporting commercial groups with key account engagements, monitoring lithography system design patent publications, and identifying new opportunities for growth.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A PhD or Master's degree in Optical Engineering, Optical Physics, or a similar discipline.
  • At least 10 years of experience in reflective and refractive optical design and ray tracing.
  • Expertise in optical modeling using commercial suites like Zemax or Code-V.
  • Fluency in English and German.
  • Strong technical acumen, ability to establish trust and cooperation with customers, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
