Health, Safety Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety Specialist to join our team at Procter & Gamble. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing health and safety policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments, and investigating accidents or incidents.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with German regulations and P&G's corporate requirements.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and enforce preventative measures to minimize workplace hazards.
- Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes, handle workers' compensation claims, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Regularly review and update safety protocols and procedures to align with industry best practices and regulatory changes.
- Develop and implement robust environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and P&G's corporate requirements.
- Monitor and manage waste disposal, recycling, promote and lead environmental impact reduction initiatives, and conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure all operations meet sustainability goals.
- Design, develop, and deliver comprehensive HSE training programs for new and existing employees and promote a culture of continuous improvement and safety awareness throughout the organization.
- Develop and implement effective emergency response plans and procedures.
- Lead by example, demonstrating a strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental excellence.
- Provide strong leadership and direction to HSE team members and other staff.
- Develop and implement strategic HSE plans aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, management, regulatory bodies, and local communities.
- Act as a key point of contact for HSE matters, providing expert advice and support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
- In-depth knowledge of German HSE regulations and standards.
- Strong understanding of HSE management systems, risk assessment methodologies, and incident investigation techniques.
- Ability to influence, engage, and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
- Proficiency in MS Office and HSE management software.
- Fluent language skills in English and German are a must.
