The Opportunity

Nutanix is a global leader in the cloud software market, empowering companies worldwide to manage their IT infrastructure across private, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments. The Product Design Team in Berlin seeks an experienced UX Designer to define the end-to-end experience for one of our product categories. You will have the opportunity to solve complex problems related to modern-day cloud systems and collaborate with industry experts who helped build Nutanix from a startup to a leader in hybrid-cloud solutions.

About the Team

The Nutanix Product Design team is responsible for defining the user experience of all Nutanix products, spanning three major geos. We are part of the larger R&D organization, working in a setting where we need to understand customer needs and assist our development teams in building and improving our products. We regularly collaborate with Software Engineering, Product Managers, and various business units to solve challenges end-to-end. Design and customer-centricity are embedded in every step of our product cycle. Nutanix has a design-first philosophy that brings consumer-grade design and web-scale engineering together to create a seamless user experience.

Your Role

  • Create industry-leading consumer-grade UX/UI designs for our enterprise software suite.
  • Plan and conduct customer research sessions to identify user needs and validate design concepts.
  • Craft the experience vision of products in line with the company's strategy.
  • Work side-by-side with PMs and engineering leads to formulate product requirements and user stories.
  • Apply our internal design system and collaborate with other designers across geos to enhance existing UX patterns.
  • Present concepts to team members, stakeholders, and executive leadership.
  • Provide regular feedback to other designers on developed concepts.
  • Drive alignment with relevant stakeholders across the organization.
  • Build a solid understanding of at least one product domain and develop a good reputation within the company.
  • Share your experience and work with other team members regularly.

What You Will Bring

  • 3+ years of UX design experience for enterprise software or web applications with a bachelor's degree in design/graphic design/fine art/computer science or related field.
  • Passion for design, data visualization, telling customer stories, and simplifying complex problems.
  • Strong working knowledge of the latest wireframing/design and prototyping tools.
  • Capability to understand challenges with medium to high complexity and create simple and elegant user experiences.
  • Ability to design and execute research studies in the context of their design exercises.
  • Ability to translate research insights into design solutions.
  • Capability to execute simultaneous design-related activities.
  • Ability to showcase knowledge of design processes and understanding of the Eng Development processes.
  • Advanced skills in delivering well-thought-through UX concepts, flows, and wireframes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are a must; German is a plus.
  • Work Visa for Germany.
