Heavy Equipment Inspector

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Inspector to join our team at U.S. Army Europe and Africa. As a Heavy Equipment Inspector, you will be responsible for performing initial, in-process, and final inspections of heavy wheeled diesel, gasoline, electric, and multi-fuel powered commercial, military, and special purpose vehicles and equipment. Your duties will include inspecting the functioning and interaction of power and motion elements, electrical cooling, and suspension systems, instruments, and the condition of body and chassis. You will diagnose the extent of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and material defects, determine the nature and extent of repair work, estimate costs for man-hours and material, and classify vehicles and equipment as to economically repairable or not economically repairable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform initial, in-process, and final inspections of heavy equipment
  • Diagnose defects and determine repair work
  • Estimate costs and classify equipment
  • Inspect technical adequacy of completed repair work
  • Certify roadworthiness of vehicles

Requirements:

  • Must have a valid German driver's license class B
  • Desirable: German driver's license class C, GCSS-A skills, and COR Training
  • English Language Proficiency level B1 and German Language Proficiency level B2 required
