About the Role

At the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) and World Agroforestry (ICRAF), we are seeking a skilled Event Delivery and Project Coordinator to join our team. This role is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about event management, project coordination, and international development.

The Event Delivery and Project Coordinator will be responsible for the overall delivery of global, regional, and thematic events, working closely with strategic partners, sponsors, and donors. They will coordinate knowledge-led activities in collaboration with our Knowledge and Digital Communications teams to implement event processes and ensure activities are effectively coordinated for high-quality event management and delivery.

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with experience in event project management, communications, and international development. If you have a university degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of experience in event project management, we encourage you to apply.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from planning and implementing events to coordinating digital and hybrid events. You will also be responsible for developing event and program concepts, agendas, and reports, as well as establishing and maintaining documentation and templates for GLF events and activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality events and projects, ensuring timely and effective coordination within the Knowledge team and across Knowledge and Digital Communications teams.
  • Coordinate GLF events design and delivery processes, ensuring engaging, inclusive, and participatory activities that connect digital and physical realms in hybrid events.
  • Lead the coordination of all content and knowledge activities for GLF global, regional/thematic events, including managing the session review process.
  • Develop event and program concepts, agendas, and reports in collaboration with Knowledge team members, science advisors, and GLF partners.
  • Establish and maintain documentation, templates, and guidance for GLF events and activities.

Requirements:

  • University degree in a related discipline (environmental studies, international/sustainable development, international relations, communications, etc.).
  • Minimum of 3 years proven working experience in event project management (planning, implementing, and monitoring events/projects), communications, preferably in environment and international development sectors.
  • Prior experience or knowledge of international development and/or environment policy processes, including Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) or Rio conventions (Convention on Biological Diversity, United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification).
  • Experience in organizing digital and hybrid events.
  • Knowledge of sustainable landscapes and the landscapes approach preferred.
  • Facilitation skills an asset.
  • Experience in knowledge management an asset.
  • Fluency in English is essential; other languages (esp. French, Spanish, Indonesian, German) an advantage.
