Research Opportunities

We are offering a PhD position at the Universitätsklinikum Ulm, Department for Internal Medicine 1. The successful candidate will join a research project focused on cancer biology to investigate how prominent PDAC driver mutations affect secretion and cargo content of small extracellular vesicles (sEVs, exosomes) to mediate intercellular communication in the tumor microenvironment and with distant metastatic niches.

About the Project

The project aims to elucidate intercellular communication networks in pancreatic cancer. The candidate will have the opportunity to work with animal model systems and contribute to the exciting field of extracellular vesicle research. They will also be part of the International Graduate School in Molecular Medicine Ulm (IGradU) PhD training program to acquire a PhD or Dr. rer. nat. degree.

Your Profile
  • You hold a Master's degree with an overall grade of 2.0 or better according to the German grading system or equivalent.
  • You have experience with molecular biology, cancer biology, or extracellular vesicles.
  • You are motivated to solve complex biological problems and work with animal model systems.
  • You possess excellent communication skills in English.
