Aerospace Engineer for Sustainable Aviation Fuel Development

We are seeking a highly motivated student researcher to contribute to our ongoing research project focused on sustainable aviation fuels. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge project that aims to develop innovative solutions for reducing the environmental impact of aviation.

The project involves the development of infrared (IR)-based machine learning models and training databases for estimating the properties of sustainable aviation fuels. Your tasks will include:

  • Conducting a literature review of conventional and sustainable aviation fuels and current IR-based models
  • Conceptualizing a data set strategy for different use cases, such as property estimation and fuel classification
  • Iteratively performing IR measurements to evaluate the IR-sensor configurations and ML models
  • Comparing the results to other datasets and values found in the literature

We are looking for a student with a strong background in aerospace engineering, chemistry, or a related field, as well as basic programming experience in Python and machine learning models. Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:

  • Student of aerospace engineering, chemistry, or a related field
  • Basic programming experience in Python and machine learning models
