About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Architect to join our team at BetterDoc GmbH. As a key member of our software engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing scalable web applications using Elixir and Phoenix.

Your primary focus will be on leading the architecture design, development, and maintenance of our web applications, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and security.

You will work closely with our engineering team to identify performance bottlenecks and optimize system performance, ensuring our applications remain efficient and scalable.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will also be responsible for mentoring and guiding junior developers, providing technical guidance and support to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced software professional who is passionate about delivering high-quality software solutions and is committed to excellence in all aspects of their work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the architecture design, development, and maintenance of scalable web applications using Elixir and Phoenix.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize system performance.
  • Ensure security in all engineering work.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on feasibility, scalability, and time-to-market.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in developing large-scale applications.
  • Proficient in Elixir and familiar with web development frameworks like Phoenix.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns, including Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and event-driven architecture.
  • Experience in building and maintaining microservices architectures, ensuring services are loosely coupled, highly cohesive, and independently deployable.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
