Social Worker for the Field of Care Assistance

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Social Worker for the Field of Care Assistance at the Landeshauptstadt Kiel. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting Kieler*innen in need of financial assistance to cover their care costs.
Key Responsibilities- Process applications for care assistance under the Social Code XII and the State Care Act, including ambulatory, semi-stationary, and stationary measures.
- Collaborate with our care professionals to assess individual care needs.
- Conduct individual case management.
- Perform simple and complex income and asset verifications.
- Be responsible for claiming priority entitlements.
- Issue decisions and handle payment arrangements.
- Provide guidance and support to care recipients, their relatives, or guardians.
- Work with providers of ambulatory and (semi-)stationary care services, the care fund, other social welfare authorities, etc.
- Collaborate with other departments of the Landeshauptstadt Kiel.
- Process ongoing cases and re-evaluate entitlement to care assistance in cases of changes.
- Terminate care assistance, prepare final accounts, monitor ongoing payments, maintain statistics, and oversee appointments.
- Review and approve one-off assistance and individual care services.
- Prepare for handling objections.
- Education: You have a university degree with a minimum of 6 semesters (Bachelor or FH Diploma) in one of the following fields:
- Social Insurance
- Public Administration, Public Management
- Public Law
- State and Administrative Sciences or
- Law (excluding First State Examination).
- Alternatively, you hold a career qualification/capacity for the first entry position in the career group two, field of general services or
- Completed Advanced Training II.
- Experience: You come from a practical background: A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience based on the required pre- and post-qualification are desirable.
- Familiarity: You are familiar with applying professional software (OPEN PROSOZ) and have knowledge of social legislation (SGB, particularly SGB XII and adjacent legal areas) – or you are willing to acquire this knowledge shortly.
