Job Overview:
General Dynamics Information Technology presents an exceptional opportunity for a Field Service Engineer supporting critical operations. Candidates must possess a current and active Secret Clearance and be eligible for TS/SCI clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive site assessments to facilitate network enhancements and develop detailed work packages for implementation.
- Provide engineering and documentation support during site surveys.
- Perform testing of network hardware across various locations.
- Create detailed diagrams and checklists for equipment installation.
- Plan, deploy, install, troubleshoot, and repair standard network infrastructure systems.
- Manage the installation and removal of equipment in racks and cabinets.
- Implement network devices and interconnectivity solutions.
- Design innovative solutions to address network device and cabinet management challenges.
- Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues across multiple devices.
- Engage in telecommunications room remediation and network migration activities.
- Organize network facilities and collaborate with clients for equipment upgrades.
- Ensure the smooth operation of local and global networks.
- Plan and coordinate the installation or reconfiguration of network hardware and software.
- Conduct thorough testing from source to destination.
- Identify and rectify all network-related issues.
- Repair or replace damaged cables and outlets.
- Maintain accurate network documentation and cable management.
- Stay updated on network technologies and propose cost-effective solutions.
- Provide ongoing monitoring and analysis for network systems.
- Support embedded operations at client locations.
- Install and maintain network facilities for small-scale networks.
- Execute data and voice network configurations.
- Interpret client-provided design plans.
- Facilitate vendor access to secure areas.
- Travel may be required for assignments in various locations.
- Perform additional duties as necessary to support contract requirements.
- Maintain current IT certifications.
Qualifications for Success:
- US Citizenship with an active US Passport.
- TESA Accreditation Requirements: A bachelor's degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience, OR; An associate's degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR; A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR; 11 years of recent specialized experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications such as Visio, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to obtain Level 4 Badge.
- Possess a current Secret clearance and eligibility for TS/SCI clearance.
- Desired Qualifications: Knowledge of Cisco LAN/WLAN, Cisco certifications, 8570 Certifications.
