Who is eligible to apply?

Current internal local national employees within Germany, including those associated with the U.S. Armed Forces, such as the Air Force and AAFES-Europe.

Key Responsibilities

The Culinary Assistant will engage in a variety of food service tasks, food preparation, and general labor duties, either consistently or on a rotating schedule.

- **Setup**: Arrange glasses, utensils, condiments, salads, desserts, bread, and cold beverages on the serving counter as directed. Clear dirty dishes from tables and transport them to the dishwashing area. Clean or wipe down tables.

- **Food Preparation**: Prepare fruits and vegetables by cutting, peeling, chopping, and dicing. Operate kitchen appliances such as electric peelers.

- **Cleaning Duties**: Maintain cleanliness by scrubbing and washing service equipment, including worktables and refrigerators. Prepare dishes for the dishwasher by sorting food waste and trash, rinsing dishes, and loading them into the dishwasher. Organize and store clean dishes.

- **General Maintenance**: Perform various tasks to ensure the cleanliness of the assigned area. This includes cleaning kitchen equipment, dining tables, and chairs; washing floors, walls, and windows in kitchen, dining, and storage areas, as well as restrooms. Wax and buff floors. Sanitize garbage and recycling bins.

- **Additional Duties**: May be required to perform headcount tasks as outlined in operational procedures. In this role, the employee will manage change funds and all funds collected for meals served.

Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

**Education**: No specific educational background is required. The candidate must be capable of performing tasks under supervision after a brief training period.

**Driver's License**: A German Class B driver's license is preferred.

**Language Proficiency**: English proficiency at level A2 and German proficiency at level B1 are required.

Employment Conditions

- This is a permanent full-time position (39 hours/week).

- Weekend and holiday work, as well as shift work, are required.

- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 20 lbs is necessary.
