About the Role

We are seeking an experienced IT Architect to join our team at RWE AG. As an IT Architect - Connectivity and Network Security, you will play a key role in designing and implementing the company's network and unified communication architecture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define the IT architecture by balancing business requirements, strategic value creation, and technological future-proofing.
  • Manage architecture approval for MFP-C topics and document architecture decisions.
  • Develop an architecture roadmap for the department and create and maintain architectural documents.
  • Ensure responsible architecture governance for MFP-C and represent the department in other RWE architecture forums.
  • Scout for new technologies and consult subject matter experts with solution design.
  • Support governance, risk, compliance, and IT-Security alignments and provide integration support outside of the MFP-C domain.
  • Interface with RWE business partners, IT infra portfolio management, and RWE business stakeholders related to architecture topics.
  • Consult on business cases or tenders for new projects, technologies, or suppliers.
  • Prototype new technologies.
Requirements
  • Several years of professional experience in network technologies, cloud (Azure & AWS), unified communications, and managing partners and providers.
  • Excellent knowledge in development, design, and operation of cloud network services, including Zero Trust Network Access.
  • Excellent knowledge in telephony services, collaboration, and media services.
  • Solid understanding of services like IPAM, external DNS, and domain management.
  • Solid end-to-end understanding in the area of network and connectivity.
  • Goal and team orientation, analytical and organisational skills, and conceptual, analytical, and solution-oriented thinking and working.
  • Understanding of overarching technical and commercial contexts and strong interpersonal and methodological skills.
  • Business fluent in English and German and willingness to travel.
