Your Role: As a specialist in intellectual property law, you will oversee the IP aspects of a ZEISS division, providing guidance on business decisions related to intellectual property. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing grant applications with IP offices, collaborating closely with patent attorneys both domestically and internationally, and occasionally leading these processes.
  • Assessing third-party rights and defending against them by conducting opposition procedures before the EPO and DPMA.
  • Advising development teams on third-party property rights and ensuring their proper consideration in projects.
  • Enforcing our intellectual property rights against third parties through available legal actions at home and abroad.
  • Drafting contracts related to intellectual property rights and engaging in contract negotiations.

Your Profile:

  • A completed degree in a technical or scientific field (knowledge in optics is a plus).
  • Admission as a European Patent Attorney (or in the process of obtaining it).
  • Relevant professional experience in technical intellectual property rights.
  • Familiarity with foreign patent systems, particularly those of the USA and PR China, is advantageous.
  • A meticulous working style characterized by precision, responsibility, and excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to articulate complex technical and legal concepts clearly and persuasively in both German and English.
  • Proficiency in German and English at level C (European Framework of Reference) is essential for your daily tasks.
