Climate Finance Intern: Partnering for Readiness

Partnering for Readiness (PfR) supports partner countries in strategically planning climate finance and accessing the Green Climate Fund (GCF), ultimately enhancing their capacity to independently implement climate projects and achieve their climate targets.
PfR functions as a collaborative knowledge hub for climate finance readiness by:
- Contributing to shaping international discourse and developing innovative knowledge-building concepts.
- Connecting countries and organizations, fostering the global transfer of knowledge and experiences.
- Acting as a strategic partner to the GCF, providing valuable input, feedback, and co-creating learning platforms and knowledge products.
As an intern within this dynamic team, you will contribute to climate finance initiatives with a focus on the GCF and its readiness program. You'll support colleagues in their work with partner countries and contribute to knowledge preparation and exchange on crucial topics such as:
- Direct access modality of the GCF
- Climate finance access for Small Island Developing States (SIDS)
- Transparency and integrity in financial resource management
- Green financial systems
- Climate finance training
This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into the day-to-day operations of GIZ, participate in meetings and discussions, and contribute to impactful climate finance projects.
Your Responsibilities:- Assist in developing, implementing, and reporting on activities within the context of GCF Readiness.
- Support research and production of information and working materials, including GCF Board meetings, GCF Readiness Programme processes, needs, and options for Readiness implementation.
- Manage information and communication effectively.
- Provide support with the preparation and follow-up of workshops and working meetings.
- Prepare presentations or minutes.
- Present GCF Readiness-related activities of GIZ for internal and external communication channels.
