Your Role

The Sustainable Sourcing & Customer Specialist is a critical role that supports customer projects, with a focus on sustainably sourced naturals. This position is central to serving several key stakeholders across the organization, including customers, sales, perfumers, regulatory, GFIM, and R&D.

Strong collaboration with procurement is essential for supplier data management collection, maintenance, and quality in SAP.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to customer projects with a focus on sustainably sourced naturals
• Develop presentations for customers
• Liaise with customers and suppliers
• Answer routine customer enquiries on raw material traceability, scorecard, Symrise projects, claims...
• Analysis of customer portfolios

Main Tasks

• Sustainable Naturals
  • Liaise with internal groups to support sustainable naturals in the palette, based on business requirements
  • Develop internal and external communications on sustainable naturals
  • Support customer presentation preparation
  • Analyze supplier portfolios and support customer requests on sustainability as required
  • Support claim development and verification for sustainable ingredients
  • Carry out internal/supplier training sessions on sustainable naturals as required
• Procurement Sustainability Support
  • With the support of Procurement, engage with suppliers to gather sustainability data
  • Engage with suppliers on customer sustainability projects
  • Engage with external organizations (such as UEBT) to understand certifications, chain of custody, and claims
  • Support supply chain human rights studies as required
• Data Management
  • Assess and classify ingredients according to new sustainability criteria, collect data from suppliers, and implement in SAP
  • Carry out data maintenance for raw material-related topics, e.g., certified materials, traceability
  • Data crunching

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in sustainability, preferably with a scientific background or experience in the fragrance industry. The ideal candidate will have:

• A sustainability degree qualification or equivalent
• At least 3 years of experience in a sustainability role or related position
• Strong data management and analytical skills
• Experience in sustainable sourcing of natural ingredients
• Understanding of biodiversity protection, deforestation, and human rights
