Athletic Trainer

The Tallahassee Community College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Athletic Trainer to join our team. As an Athletic Trainer, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive athletic injury prevention, evaluation, and treatment services to our student-athletes.

• Injury Prevention and Evaluation: Assist in administering the overall health care of student-athletes, including physical examinations, daily care, prevention, recognition, rehabilitation, and administration of injuries.
• Medical Care and Referrals: Conduct initial evaluations of injuries, provide first aid and emergency care, and refer student-athletes to physicians for definitive diagnosis and further medical treatment.
• Rehabilitation and Return-to-Play: Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to develop and implement comprehensive rehabilitation programs for athletic injuries, assess and document progress, and communicate with coaches and physicians.
• Equipment and Supply Management: Assist in the maintenance and supervision of the athletic training room, equipment, and supply inventory, and evaluate and recommend new techniques and equipment to enhance the athletic training program.
• Regulatory Compliance: Maintain thorough familiarity with applicable NJCAA, FCSAA, Panhandle Conference, and College rules and regulations, and perform other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer or Director of Athletics.

• Education and Certification: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in sports medicine, athletic training, exercise science, kinesiology, physiology, human anatomy, or a related area, and state of Florida athletic training licensure and certification by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certifications (NATABOC).
• Skills and Knowledge: Working knowledge of evaluating, advising, and treating athletes to assist in recovery from injury, avoid injury, or maintain peak physical fitness, knowledge of processes and standards used in the health care industry, and knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal care.

• Experience: Previous experience in athletic training, sports medicine, or a related field.
• Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a team environment, and ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
