Amazon Support Services Germany GmbH - I46 is dedicated to being the world's most customer-centric organization, offering a platform where customers can explore and purchase a wide array of products online.

The ideal candidate will be an essential member of the operations team, tasked with overseeing the project management of new Amazon Delivery Stations (DS) encompassing planning, design, and construction phases.

This role will involve the enhancement of current facilities as well as the establishment of new locations. The Construction Project Leader will be pivotal in the evolution and execution of the EU network infrastructure. This position will assess and scrutinize various facility scenarios and design layouts. Furthermore, this individual will aid in the standardization of technical and facility-related processes and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee construction engineering, planning, and design for Amazon Fulfillment (Distribution) Centers and other expansion initiatives.
  • Provide project support for fulfillment network buildings and additional capacity needs within existing European Fulfillment Centers.
  • Execute construction engineering design and renovation projects.
  • Develop reports, specifications, and technical analyses to comprehensively define design requirements, equipment, and services needed.
  • Conduct facility surveys, create and document procedures to audit facilities, offer evaluations and analyses, and propose solutions to infrastructure, safety, and security challenges.
  • Negotiate vendor contracts and present formal documentation for necessary approvals.
  • Ensure contracts are appropriate, cost-effective, and include relevant Service Level Agreements.
  • Manage overall site operations, coordination, planning, and specification of business proposals while collaborating with subcontractors.
  • Collaborate with others on due diligence evaluations of new opportunities.
  • Mentor and guide all project teams (subcontractors, maintenance engineers, and commissioning engineers) throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Ensure that contracted resources meet duration and quality targets, addressing and rectifying underperformance issues.
  • Audit contractors to verify that the skills and competencies of contract labor align with project needs.
  • Notify contractors of anticipated changes in resource or work demand to facilitate appropriate actions.
  • Establish and maintain information systems necessary for effective scheduling and documentation of contract work.
  • Support contractors' efforts and assist them in achieving higher performance standards.
  • Mentor new team members on best practices.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in project management, real estate development, or architecture/design.
  • Proficiency in German and English.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% across projects in Europe.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or MBA.
  • Knowledge of French, Polish, Arabic, or Turkish is considered an advantage.
