This role is essential in engaging a variety of external and internal stakeholders, providing National Chapters with effective advocacy tools and resources. The position involves extensive outreach to global institutions and other international entities through coalition-building and relationship management in collaboration with TI's climate integrity lead.

The Climate Governance Integrity Programme is dedicated to promoting transparency, inclusivity, and accountability within climate policy and governance frameworks, ensuring that climate initiatives are safeguarded against corruption and effectively reach the most vulnerable populations affected by climate change. This programme operates globally with TI national chapters in over 30 countries across various regions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Role Objective: Oversee the organization's advocacy campaigns on Climate Integrity, formulating strategies, plans, and resources to enhance TI's advocacy, campaigning, and communication efforts.

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Head of Policy & Advocacy

Compensation: Salary aligned with TI-S internal salary framework; for this role, starting at EUR 55,650 gross annually, contingent on relevant experience.

Contract Duration: Currently offering a fixed-term employment contract for 2 years, with the possibility of extension based on ongoing organizational needs, performance, and funding availability.

Work Schedule: Full-time [100%; 40 hours per week]

PRIMARY DUTIES

As a member of the Policy & Advocacy Team and under the guidance of the Head of Policy & Advocacy, the Climate Integrity Advocacy Manager (m/f/d) will:

  • Lead international advocacy campaigns addressing climate and corruption challenges, developing and executing plans and strategies in collaboration with TI-S colleagues (climate team, communication team, etc.) and external partners.
  • Facilitate Chapters' involvement in global advocacy efforts, ensuring effective internal communication and knowledge sharing through meetings, email lists, social media, and other knowledge management tools to disseminate best practices and insights across the Movement.
  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships and alliances, coordinating coalition initiatives and overseeing specific projects with external consultants to further campaign goals.
  • Execute planned advocacy activities, resources, and timelines.
  • Produce advocacy campaign materials, including digital content, social media posts, commentaries, interventions, and policy papers as required.
  • Articulate TI's positions and messaging to both external and internal audiences.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for advocacy, lobbying, and campaign initiatives at regional and international levels through stakeholder mapping and issue analysis, as well as engaging in Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning cycles.
  • Prepare funding proposals, manage grants, and compile reports for funders, along with fulfilling any additional tasks as necessary.
  • Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the Policy and Advocacy team by providing proactive and ad hoc support as needed.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

To excel in this position, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • A graduate degree or professional qualification in social sciences, public policy, journalism, international law, economics, management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in international advocacy, campaigning, and communications.
  • In-depth knowledge of climate integrity issues and/or anti-corruption; prior experience with anti-corruption, climate, or development initiatives is highly advantageous (e.g., with international organizations and civil society).
  • Familiarity with advocacy campaigning concepts, processes, and tools.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, with a proven track record of effective writing and communication skills.
  • Proficient oral and written communication in English (native speaker level); proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong diplomatic and intercultural skills, with the ability to integrate diverse perspectives and convene various stakeholders.
  • A commitment to environmental issues and anti-corruption.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages (especially Spanish and/or French) are advantageous.
