Research Laboratory Technician

We are currently seeking a Research Laboratory Technician to join our Analytical Development Team at Arxada. This role involves supporting product and process innovation, optimization, prototype development, stability assessments, and performance evaluations for our paints, coatings, and material protection sectors. Additionally, the technician will assist in scaling up and piloting initiatives to expedite the market introduction of new, innovative products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct experimental laboratory work, including formulation research, chemical reactions, and physical performance evaluations related to biocide products for marine antifouling and coatings markets.
- Develop and refine cost-effective manufacturing processes suitable for large-scale production.
- Generate data by measuring physical and chemical properties of products, followed by thorough interpretation, documentation, and archiving of technical findings.
- Draft manufacturing procedures and comprehensive reports.
- Evaluate new and alternative raw materials.
- Collaborate with the R&D laboratory team to perform general tasks such as laboratory maintenance, organizing raw material supplies, and waste management.
- Engage with key departments within Arxada (Analytical Group, Microbiology, Supply Chain, Production, Technical Service, Marketing, and Regulatory) on technical matters.
- Work in partnership with external consultants, laboratories, and academic institutions.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Strong commitment to enhancing safety culture.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry.
- Proficient in German or English.
- Experience in R&D and product development within the specialty chemicals sector.
- Thorough understanding of customer applications and the ability to effectively communicate technical information.
