Position Overview
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will join a dynamic, cross-functional team that values trust, respect, and diversity. Your role will involve close collaboration with team members who appreciate the significance of communication and constructive feedback. Success in this position requires a commitment to teamwork, open dialogue, and continuous improvement.
You will be an integral part of our agile team responsible for the SAP Signavio Process Manager. In this capacity, you will contribute significantly to the design and architecture of our business process modeling and simulation software, focusing on creating a unified understanding of application code, architecture, and performance at scale.
Key Responsibilities:
• Engage in system architecture and design discussions
• Demonstrate expertise in Object-oriented programming, particularly in languages like Java
• Develop, test, and maintain backend code, ensuring robust and scalable solutions for SAP Signavio Process Manager
• Lead by example through hands-on coding, conducting code reviews, and promoting best practices in software development
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate seamless integration of backend services with front-end applications and other systems
• Adapt to agile methodologies, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions
• Participate actively in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
• Identify opportunities for improvement and advocate for enhancements to products and team processes
• Work closely with the Product Owner and Tech Lead to align on technical commitments and contribute to defining functional and non-functional requirements (KPIs, quality, and value chain).
Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Over 5 years of proven experience in backend development, particularly with scalable and distributed systems
• Proficiency in relevant technologies such as Java, Python, or similar languages
• A strong commitment to writing clean, well-tested code
• Experience in safely refactoring large codebases
• Familiarity with migrating monolithic architectures to microservices
• Hands-on experience with SQL or NoSQL databases, with an emphasis on database optimization
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud technologies is highly advantageous
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams
• Fluent English language skills are essential.
