We are seeking a seasoned Instructional Design Manager to lead and enhance our team of instructional designers. As a key member of our learning and development team, you will spearhead the creation of impactful training programs as part of our services and operations, driving innovations that support our mission and growth, and helping the ops team deliver efficient, impactful work.
Key Responsibilities- Instructional Design Team Management
- Oversee the management of our training content production team of instructional designers (2-3 people)
- Supervise, develop, and evaluate assigned staff; ensure staff receive regular constructive performance feedback, prompt resolution of problems, and the time and opportunity to grow professionally
- Content Development
- Stay abreast of the latest trends and best-practices in the e-Learning and instructional design community in order to enhance and expand on training objects and deliverables
- Generate and customize innovative, high-quality training and learning objects
- Ensure efficient communication between ops and studio, to enable swift development of content required for our programs
- Perform needs and task analysis, scope projects, and evaluate existing documentation to identify the most appropriate training approach and content
- Independently create scenarios and case studies, learning activities, online course content, infographics, learning assessments, and user guides using sound instructional design theory
- Maintain and develop course templates, models, standards, and procedures
- Collaboration across Internal Teams
- Establish standards and define learner experiences and tools/interfaces to ensure consistency
- Oversee the management of tech tools that support our learning & development mission, including our Learning Management System
- Establish standards and processes for learner recruitment criteria, instructor interviewing and onboarding, learner evaluations & skills assessment
- Manage relationships with global instructor teams to collect insights and turn them into actionable strategies and recommendations
- Train and empower the ops teams to use the tools effectively and to their full potential
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a management role, preferably in a multinational and multi-functional organization
- Proven track record in successfully managing teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of driving innovation and change, and influencing diverse stakeholders
- Excellent collaboration skills, experience working in matrix teams and organizations
- Proven track record of creating training programs
- Experience leveraging key tools for instructional design including: LMS, Articulate
- Strong strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts and challenges into clear operational plans
- Fluency in English is essential; additional language skills are a plus
- Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a passion for leveraging technology to drive social impact
