Role Overview: In this position, you will be responsible for system configurations, service integrations, and the testing of software deployed at various Amazon installations globally, utilizing our mobile robotics platform.
Your primary focus will be on new site launches, driving robotics fleet retrofit initiatives aimed at enhancing the performance, reliability, and safety of our robotic and automation systems deployed worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple robotics implementation, upgrade, and enhancement projects, ensuring that program objectives are achieved while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and facilitating necessary changes.
- Gather and analyze Voice of the Customer (VOC) data, sharing success stories during lessons learned workshops and collaborating with cross-functional partners in Engineering and Operations to showcase value and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain problem resolution procedures, identifying the need for new tools to support existing solutions.
- Utilize existing guides, task lists, and configuration processes to deploy software at Amazon Robotics sites globally.
- Monitor operational queues and address issues within established service level agreements (SLAs).
- Potentially become a subject matter expert in one or more areas of robotics engineering or program management, serving as a point of escalation for critical issues.
- Establish processes for implementing product upgrades on fielded Amazon Robotics products.
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience in quality assurance engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, computer science, operations research, business analytics, information systems, or a related field.
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, TQM, Kaizen, Lean manufacturing).
- Experience with AWS services such as S3, EC2, SNS, SQS.
- Knowledge of Linux operating systems (RHEL, Ubuntu).
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and achieve objectives without supervision.
- Proven skills in root cause analysis, driving improvements, and implementing preventive measures.
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks effectively.
- Experience leading complex technical discussions with diverse groups, including Software, Hardware, Systems Engineering, Operations, and Senior Management.
- Proven project management skills for complex technical projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience collaborating with development and business teams to communicate problem impacts and understand business requirements.
- AWS certification (Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect).
- Certification in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, TQM, Kaizen, Lean manufacturing).
- Certification in Linux Red Hat.
- Demonstrated ability to delve into system or process details to resolve customer issues.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills with a focus on metrics-driven frugality without compromising safety or customer satisfaction.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of effectively engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Exposure to programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, Shell Scripting, or JavaScript.
