Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Controller to take a financial lead role in the overall management of our hospitality operations. As a key member of our global Finance team, you will be responsible for managing and controlling all finance-related activities of the company in its field of hospitality operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Leadership: Establish an integrated financial controlling structure for hospitality operations across all places, projects, and services.
  • Operational Guidance: Provide guidance to Operational Teams and Operational Managers on all efficiency-related matters.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Report key metrics to different stakeholders (Board/C-Level, Operations Leadership & Operational Teams).
  • Data Monitoring: Monitor and control data for Slow Operations real-time.
  • Accounting Oversight: Monitor and control the entire accounting function as per accounting standards.
  • Financial Strategy: Challenge the status quo, and provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
  • Financial Analysis: Prepare financial analysis as and when required.
  • Operational Budgeting: Oversee all operational budget/actual reports and results.
  • Performance Evaluation: Prepare ad-hoc analyses relating to operational performance.
  • Cost Reduction: Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Internal Controls: Ensure that effective internal controls are in place.
  • Controlling Systems: Continuously develop the setup and maintenance of controlling systems.
  • Auditing: Execute monthly/periodic audits and give directives to the team, when required.
Requirements
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong in problem-solving, resulting in sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • Integrity and Urgency: High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Results-Oriented: Results- and goal-oriented while maintaining high standards for yourself and others.
  • Business Acumen: An experienced professional who moves from theory to real-time application of knowledge in the business domain – a strategist and thinker, but also a catalyst and doer.
  • Communication Skills: Strong personality with an ability to communicate, negotiate, and manage across all levels of the organization.
  • Industry Knowledge: Affinity towards hospitality, finance, and technology.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Solid understanding of accounting and USALI, knowledge of HGB is a plus.
  • Work Experience: Minimum 5 years of work experience (preferably 7 or more), as a Controller or in a similar financial leadership role within the hospitality industry.
  • Language Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English; Portuguese is a plus.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in hospitality operations is essential and required.
