Job Overview

At French Consulting, we are dedicated to enhancing hearing readiness and conservation. Our mission is to identify and assess potential hearing threats while developing effective hearing health solutions. The Hearing Conservation Program is designed to ensure the quality and effectiveness of hearing evaluations and interventions.

As a Hearing Conservation Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Department of Defense's Hearing Conservation Program. Your responsibilities will include scheduling patient appointments, conducting hearing assessments, and performing various tests such as otoscopy and immittance testing. You will also conduct training sessions on hearing protection and safety briefings.

Qualifications

Education: Associate degree required. Certification: Completion of an accredited program in Occupational Hearing Conservation is necessary, with preference given to candidates holding DoD Hearing Technician Certification. Minimum of three years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably within the U.S. Military Healthcare system. Proficiency in using the Composite Health Care System (CHCS) and the U.S. Military Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from an accredited organization. Skills: Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with mobile technology is advantageous. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations. Must be able to obtain a U.S. Military Motor Vehicle Operator's Identification Card.

Key Responsibilities

Schedule and conduct hearing evaluations, ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Utilize advanced audiometric equipment to assess hearing readiness. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate hearing conservation activities. Provide training on hearing protection and conduct educational briefings. Maintain accurate records and reports related to hearing conservation efforts. Assist in the preparation for inspections and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Offer support to various hearing conservation clinics as needed.
