We are seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Department Head - Hospital Management at our Heidelberg location. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the hospital management department, focusing on the following key areas:
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice to hospital management and clinical service providers on laboratory medicine and economics, actively supporting ongoing change processes in the hospitals we serve.
- Oversee the technical management and development of hospital laboratories, as well as point-of-care testing (POCT) diagnostics.
- Select, implement, and maintain laboratory information systems in hospitals, including POCT networking and order-entry systems.
- Lead, support, and develop the team members assigned to the department.
- Continuously update knowledge and develop business models in line with current healthcare reforms.
- Manage existing customer relationships.
- Prepare monthly performance reports (service and cost reports) and develop, analyze, and present the monthly plan vs. actual comparison.
- Participate actively in projects aimed at operational and strategic company development, particularly in hospital cooperation.
- Attend various hospital meetings (laboratory commissions, hygiene commissions, chief physician meetings, etc.).
- Contribute to the development of offers, calculations, and statistics.
- Develop and implement the company's economic plan, including detailed commentary.
- Monitor and optimize departmental processes using key performance indicators.
- Develop and deliver expert presentations.
About You
We are looking for a highly qualified individual with:
- A completed medical specialization in laboratory medicine, microbiology, infection epidemiology, or a related field (preferably), or a completed natural science or business degree.
- Experience in hospital laboratory management or laboratory analytics is desirable.
- Knowledge of hospital organization and billing (DRG).
- Experience in the healthcare sector.
- Project management experience.
