Job Title: Specialist Engineer - Arc Modeling and Simulation

Eaton Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Specialist Engineer to join our Arc Modeling and Simulation team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing modeling and simulation methodologies for electrical arcs in various applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply and enhance models for AC and DC circuit interruption as well as fault arc processes in numerous components and systems.
  • Support global cross-functional teams in developing new products and generating value-added intellectual property.
  • Develop and implement new arc simulation models to enhance Eaton's simulation capabilities.
  • Stay at the leading edge of arc physics and attend relevant conferences to present new results.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with academic partners.
  • Communicate and coordinate with business teams supported by the AMS CoE.
  • Maintain and defend our technology by creating patents and trade secrets.
Requirements:
  • PhD degree in Plasma Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • In-depth experience with atmospheric plasma discharges, electric arcs, or streamers.
  • Enhanced skills in numerical algorithms and simulation methods.
  • Expertise in modeling of plasmas.
  • Professional use of standard CFD/FEM simulation tools.
  • Mastering high-level programming languages.
  • Experience in new product development in the area of electrical power distribution.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Fluent in oral and written English.
