Your Future Role
As a Senior IT Solutions Architect specializing in Connectivity, Network Security, and Unified Communication, you will be instrumental in shaping the IT landscape for RWE across more than 250 locations. Your expertise will be vital in executing the tailored network and unified communication architecture and strategy, ensuring alignment with the Group's strategic objectives in collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Define the IT architecture by balancing immediate business needs with long-term strategic value and technological sustainability, ensuring an optimal IT landscape through precise specifications for projects and requirements.
- Manage architecture approvals for MFP-C initiatives, including documentation of architectural decisions and maintaining an architecture roadmap for the department.
- Conduct technology and market scouting to stay ahead of industry trends.
- Consult with subject matter experts to design effective solutions.
- Support governance, risk management, compliance, and IT security alignments.
- Facilitate integration topics beyond the MFP-C domain.
- Act as an interface to RWE business partners, IT infrastructure portfolio management, and business stakeholders regarding architectural matters.
- Advise on business cases or tenders for new projects, technologies, or suppliers.
- Prototype and evaluate new technologies.
Your Essential Skills
- Extensive professional experience in network technologies, cloud platforms (Azure & AWS), and unified communications, along with managing partnerships and service providers.
- In-depth knowledge of developing, designing, and operating cloud network services, including Zero Trust Network Access.
- Strong understanding of telephony services and collaboration tools such as chat, voice, video conferencing, and media services.
- Solid grasp of services like IP Address Management (IPAM), external DNS, and domain management.
- Comprehensive understanding of network and connectivity principles.
- Goal-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and conceptual thinking skills.
- Ability to comprehend complex technical and commercial contexts, coupled with excellent interpersonal and methodological skills.
- Fluency in English and German, with a willingness to travel.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience with hybrid cloud networking.
- Familiarity with on-premise networking technology stacks.
- Proficiency in automation tools such as Terraform, Python, and Azure DevOps.
- Relevant cloud certifications, such as Azure Network Engineer Associate or AWS Certified Advanced Networking.
