We are seeking a visionary leader in Cloud Financial Management, a pivotal role within our organization.
In this impactful position, you will report directly to the CFO and oversee a team of 15 skilled professionals, facilitating collaboration among technology, finance, and business sectors to enable informed spending decisions and enhance business value derived from cloud services. As the primary authority on global cloud financial practices, including Chargeback Processes, Budgeting and Forecasting, Reporting, and Cost Optimization, you will have the chance to guide the organization and drive financial performance. You will be responsible for securing business case approvals and nurturing a cost-aware culture at the intersection of Finance, Business, and Technology.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership Role:
As an expert in Cloud Financial Management Strategy, you will shape and direct the Cloud Financial Management function while serving as a mentor for junior colleagues.You will provide strategic insights for Cloud initiatives and be recognized as a trusted advisor by the Senior Leadership team.With a strong collaborative approach, you will promote best practices and uphold the highest standards within the Technology community.Your responsibilities will include evaluating technology business cases and ensuring the financial viability of technical investments in close partnership with the CTO and investment committee.You will also oversee comprehensive financial planning and analysis, budget development, monthly planning, and forecasting for the Technology Organization.Take on the challenge of supporting the PLC from a financial analysis and oversight perspective while monitoring key investment projects led by the Technology Organization.Define, Lead, and Influence Cloud Financial Management Strategy
Steer and influence Cloud strategy through financial modeling. Assess the benefits of operating applications in the cloud.Establish strategy and processes for managing the Cloud operating budget.Own all TCO/economic-related activities for the Cloud Financial Management team.Advocate for the economic value proposition of cloud computing to senior leaders.Develop Guidelines and Standards
Create and implement a standard TCO framework and dynamic analytic model for use by the Cloud Financial Management team.Establish strategies and guidelines for Reserve Instances, On-demand, and Spot Instances.Implement measures to optimize cost performance.Enhance the approach for alerting when costs exceed expectations within a billing cycle.Lead Financial Cost Modeling
Manage the costing model, including Cloud infrastructure costs, personnel, and training expenses for the Cloud Financial Management team.Design cost and revenue models and forecasts for budget assessments.Refine Cost Allocation Models and TCO Cost Estimation processes.Evaluate the comparative costs of operating applications on the Cloud.Financial Oversight and Management of Cloud Budgets
Deliver business reviews to senior management regarding progress and challenges related to TCO matters.Report to business application owners on cloud service consumption costs to be charged back to respective business units.Forecast Cloud expenses for business application owners to assist in the budgeting process.Financial Tracking and Monitoring
Develop and manage a reporting and tracking system for all TCO/economic-related activities.Collaborate with Cloud Architects to enhance cost performance and establish a financial suitability framework for cloud migration opportunities.Identify and leverage opportunities for cost optimization.About the Ideal Candidate:
Required Qualifications:
10-15 years of relevant experience, including a background in Agile/Scrum environments and cloud computing technologies.Understanding of technology infrastructure, including networking, computing, storage, virtualization, and designing scalable, cost-effective, and fault-tolerant distributed systems.Experience in building IaaS and PaaS solutions and working with complex legacy IT environments.Familiarity with data center economics, migration, and refresh cycles, along with common enterprise virtualization environments.Experience collaborating with senior business and IT stakeholders on business case/value analysis, TCO solutions, and cost optimization strategies.Extensive experience in financial modeling and analysis of large-scale IT infrastructure, application, and service investments, including total cost of ownership baselining and scenario analysis.Experience in establishing and managing financial control and analysis systems, including cloud cost analysis, showback, chargeback, and financial reporting.Proficiency in tools for performing billbacks and showbacks.Competencies:
