About the Role

Framatome is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Master Thesis Ageing Management Specialist. As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for further qualifying an ageing management module for strain induced corrosion cracking sensitivity screening of conventional power plant components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement relevant equations in the software platform COMSY
  • Elaborate application examples with input data from conventional power plants
  • Assess and adapt penalty factors FEN with regard to the specific environment of the water steam cycle of conventional power plants
  • Implement component specific stress concentration factors for different typical geometries
  • Consider covering strain rates for the operational conditions of conventional power plants

About the Project

The ageing management expert system COMSY can be a powerful tool for the management of strain induced corrosion cracking based on an integral approach using plant specific data – particularly the balance of plant BOP - as the main input.

Requirements

  • Passionate and highly motivated student of Materials Science or Mechanical Engineering
  • Good analytical skills and ability to work within a great team of international colleagues
