Key Responsibilities

We are looking for a talented and experienced DevOps Engineer who possesses a strong grasp of CI/CD methodologies, particularly with GitLab, and a comprehensive understanding of Kubernetes. The successful candidate will be tasked with designing, implementing, and sustaining CI/CD pipelines, facilitating seamless deployment processes, and overseeing Kubernetes environments. A solid foundation in networking and Linux OS, along with proficiency in tools such as ArgoCD, Helm, and monitoring/logging frameworks like Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki, is essential. Familiarity with IAM solutions, especially Keycloak, is highly desirable.

  • CI/CD Pipeline Development: Create, enhance, and manage efficient CI/CD pipelines in GitLab to support automated builds, testing, and deployments. Work collaboratively with development teams to integrate CI/CD best practices, ensuring pipelines are optimized for performance, reliability, and security. Monitor and resolve pipeline issues to minimize downtime and ensure swift resolution of any related challenges.
  • Deployment Strategy Implementation: Develop and oversee deployment strategies utilizing ArgoCD and Helm, ensuring smooth rollouts while minimizing production risks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate releases, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines. Create and maintain automation scripts to streamline deployment processes and reduce manual errors.
  • Kubernetes Administration: Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters for high availability, scalability, and efficient resource use. Oversee container orchestration, including application deployment, scaling, and management within Kubernetes environments. Implement and uphold security best practices within Kubernetes, including network policies, RBAC, and secrets management.
  • Networking and Linux Management: Maintain a robust understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, firewalls, and load balancers. Administer Linux systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and stability. Troubleshoot and resolve network and OS-level issues impacting CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, or other infrastructure components.
  • Monitoring and Logging Solutions: Establish and manage a monitoring and logging framework using Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki. Create dashboards and alerts to provide insights into system performance, application health, and security. Analyze logs and metrics to identify and rectify performance bottlenecks, security incidents, and other issues.
  • Identity and Access Management: Implement and manage IAM solutions, with a preference for experience using Keycloak. Ensure effective role-based access control (RBAC) and manage user identities, authentication, and authorization processes across the infrastructure.
  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Identify and implement enhancements to CI/CD processes, deployment strategies, and Kubernetes management to improve efficiency, security, and scalability. Stay informed about the latest industry trends, tools, and best practices, applying them to refine our DevOps practices. Provide mentorship and guidance to team members on CI/CD, deployment, Kubernetes, networking, Linux OS, monitoring, and IAM-related topics.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A university degree and several years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive experience with GitLab CI/CD, including pipeline creation, management, and optimization.
  • In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes, including cluster management, container orchestration, and security best practices.
  • Strong understanding of deployment strategies, including canary releases, blue-green deployments, and rolling updates, with experience in ArgoCD and Helm.
  • Proficient in networking fundamentals and Linux OS administration.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging frameworks such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki.
  • Familiarity with IAM solutions, preferably Keycloak.
  • Strong scripting abilities (e.g., Bash, Python) for automating deployment and CI/CD processes.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and their integration with Kubernetes is desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
