About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director, Workplace Solutions/Workplace Services to lead our Workplace Construction & Design, Facility Services, Workplace Experience and Travel Management teams. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for driving strategic initiatives that enhance our workplace experience and support our business goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for future workplaces, including acquisition, lease, use, remodel, repair, maintenance, and disposition of real estate assets.
  • Leadership: Provide inspiring leadership to our Workplace Solutions process improvement team, overseeing processes associated with corporate real estate functions, including scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, design, planning, and overall workplace experience.
  • Facilities Management: Oversee the maintenance and operations of facilities, deliveries hub, welcome team, community, and experience team.
  • Travel Management: Lead highly engaged travel management specialists who are responsible for global corporate travel policies and procedures, easy-to-use travel management tools and technologies, traveler safety and risk management, travel optimization programs, and the overall travel and relocation experience.
  • Design and Architecture: Support the development and roll-out of design and architecture standards for global office buildings, including best practices on workplace branding, furniture, meeting room tech, smart office solutions, and booking apps.
  • Portfolio Optimization: Drive workplace design and solutions to deliver on portfolio optimization.
  • Capital and Expense Budgeting: Control capital and expense budgets related to leases, building construction and operations, furniture, business unit initiatives, and general portfolio optimization.
  • Operational Solutions: Consult operational solutions and budgets after the project handover.
  • Economic Analysis: Perform economic analyses to justify the expenditure of capital and expense for all aspects of the operation of the portfolio.
  • Research and Implementation: Research, recommend, and implement new tools and methods to improve employee workplaces, building infrastructure, and/or the financing of specific properties.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate and manage contracts and leases, and engage and direct the work of architects, engineers, real estate brokers, property managers, and/or consultants.
  • Compliance and Governance: Collaborate and contribute with our legal and real estate procurement team and consultants to ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
  • Stakeholder Management: Maintain global relationships with internal stakeholders, including people and culture teams, IT, real estate procurement, and legal.
  • Feasibility and Needs Analysis: Conduct feasibility and needs analysis, including real estate impact analysis on corporate performance.
  • Workplace Optimization: Optimize work style and workplace relationship, including adoption of flexible ways of working.
  • Workplace Research and Strategy: Conduct workplace research and strategy, including evaluation of current workplace from multiple facets and building future workplace strategy.
  • Change Management: Manage change, including training and educating employees about new ways of working, aligning business leaders to adopt change, and evaluating the effect of the workplace on performance.
Requirements
  • Experience: Experienced in working in and delivering workplace solutions and strategies within a corporate environment.
  • Education: Degree in Architecture, Building Science, or Engineering (Construction, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical, Real Estate) and/or 10 years or more experience in the field.
  • Leadership: Experience in managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Building Systems: Strong familiarity with building system operations.
  • Service Provider Management: Experience in managing service providers and vendors to provide solutions.
  • Negotiation: Negotiation experience in all aspects of real estate, construction, and facilities contracts.
  • Project Management: Experienced in leading big office construction projects.
  • Design and Trends: Strong knowledge of latest office design and workplace trends.
  • Future of Work: Understanding of the future of the workplace post-COVID and the ability to have a forward-thinking approach.
  • Communication and Negotiation: Excellent people, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Supply Partner Governance: Experienced in governance and relationship management of workplace supply partners.
  • Workplace Behavior: Ability to understand workplace behaviors.
  • Language: German language skills to a professional standard.
