About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud and Software Engineer to join our Digital Innovation team at BASF. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in driving the digital transformation of various business areas, including Controlling, Production, and Logistics.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement end-to-end solutions, solve technical problems, and support data analysis in agile project teams.
- Develop and implement batch and real-time data processing pipelines and systems in the Azure Cloud to improve customer and business insights from our data.
- Identify areas for improvement and simplification of our current system landscape.
- Take active responsibility for the quality and scalability of end-to-end data platform solutions and develop best practices and operation concepts for our solutions, continuous integration and deployment, automated tests, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Ensure the availability of high-quality and performant APIs/databases for Industry 4.0 projects.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
- Deep understanding of modern IT architectures for providing cloud solutions (especially IaaS & PaaS).
- Experience in developing and implementing microservice architectures and creating security, governance, and identity concepts in the cloud.
- Comprehensive experience in data management, data streaming; proficient in working with databases (SQL and NoSQL) and big data and ETL tools (Azure Data Factory, Databricks/Spark).
- Proven Azure project experience and/or certifications in cloud technologies and solutions in MS-Azure (e.g., Cloud Developer, Cloud DevOps, or Cloud Architect).
- Practical knowledge and experience with continuous integration and deployment cloud deployment models on enterprise level (public, private, hybrid).
- Fundamental experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or ARM Templates.
- Programming language knowledge in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript is an advantage.
- Promote innovation through effective communication and entrepreneurial action.
