Software Deployment Specialist

Job Description

As a key member of our team at ZEISS, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our in-house written microservices and applications across global environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configuration and Deployment: Prepare and configure microservices using Git and YAML for deployment into global edge-environments.
  • Service Management: Manage the deployment of new or changed versions of microservices into edge-environments.
  • Troubleshooting: Work directly with various technologies (MSSQL/MongoDB/Kafka/Docker) to diagnose issues across running services.
  • Extended Diagnostics: Utilize existing monitoring/logging tools (Grafana/Loki/Mimir) to identify the root cause of issues in running services.
  • Communication and Training: Collaborate with on-premise support regarding changes to services and provide training on new features when required.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain training material and documentation for deployed services, and report new bugs/issues to Technical Product Owners/Developers.
  • Technical Coordination: Facilitate communication between developers and on-site support for open issues until resolution.
