Job Title: PhD Student - Tumor Microenvironment Research
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join our research team at the Dr. Senckenberg Institut of Pathology (SIP). The successful candidate will contribute to our ongoing research project focused on uncovering the mechanisms of prostate cancer progression and metastasis.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on the tumor microenvironment using multiomics approaches and multiplex tissue imaging
- Develop biomarkers for improved prostate cancer classification and response to treatment
- Quantify the anatomical organization of the tumor microenvironment in a curated cohort of metastatic prostate cancer patients
- Collaborate with our team to unravel and functionally assess crosstalk mechanisms that support metastasis
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Biomedical, Life Sciences or equivalent
- Basic experience in laboratory techniques (i.e. molecular biology)
- Background in immunofluorescence microscopy and prostate cancer are a plus
- Passions for discovery, collaborative spirit and good communication skills
- Good knowledge of MS-Office
- Good knowledge of spoken and written English
- Due to legal regulations, valid proof of measles immunity / measles vaccination is required
