The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is a leading applied research organization, operating numerous institutes across Germany with a significant annual research budget. Our team is composed of individuals with diverse academic backgrounds, including computer science, engineering, and physics, dedicated to advancing knowledge in machine learning and quantum computing.
Role Overview: As a Student Researcher, you will engage in projects focused on quantum circuit design and compilation. Your responsibilities will include:
- Exploring and contributing to research on quantum circuit compilation.
- Updating our literature review on current advancements in reinforcement learning-based quantum circuit compilation and language models relevant to quantum computing.
- Utilizing quantum computing frameworks and tools.
- Working with both established and emerging quantum hardware technologies.
Qualifications: We are looking for candidates who:
- Are pursuing a degree in physics, mathematics, or computer science.
- Have familiarity with topics such as auto-encoders, transformers, reinforcement learning, or graph neural networks.
- Possess experience in Python programming and are comfortable with libraries like PyTorch, TensorFlow, and NumPy.
- Have knowledge of quantum computing and experience with relevant libraries.
- Can communicate fluently in English.
