LEAD SUPPLY TECHNICIAN Position Overview

This role involves overseeing a team of approximately 10 personnel responsible for the creation, evaluation, and execution of unit-level and property book-level transactions within the Global Combat Support System (GCSS) – Army. The Lead Supply Technician will initiate Purchase Requests and Committal (PR&C) in the General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS) and validate contractor invoices through the Invoicing, Receipt, Acceptance, and Property Transfer System (iRAPTS), ensuring timely payments for services rendered.

Key Responsibilities

The incumbent will:

  • Provide clear guidance and expectations for work assignments to subordinates, monitoring their progress and addressing any challenges that arise.
  • Establish work priorities in accordance with regulatory standards and local requirements.
  • Assist team members with complex cases that exceed standard operational assignments.
  • Address and resolve employee grievances, escalating more serious issues to higher management as necessary.
  • Distribute workload effectively among team members to optimize productivity.
  • Support Equal Employment Opportunity initiatives and other management programs.
Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following educational and experiential criteria:

  • E&T Level I: 2 years of relevant experience plus an additional 2 years in a related field.
  • E&T Level II: 1 year of relevant experience plus 2 years in a related field.
  • E&T Level III: 1 year of experience in a related role.
  • E&T Level IV: No additional experience required.

All candidates must possess a valid driver's license (Class B) and be capable of obtaining and maintaining the necessary military driving credentials. Proficiency in Office Automation is essential, along with a strong understanding of GCSS and GFEBS.

Language Proficiency

Fluency in English (C1 level) and German (C1 level) is required. Candidates may assess their language skills through various online platforms that offer tests based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Employment Conditions

This is a permanent, full-time position (38.5 hours per week). The designated duty station is currently established, with potential for reassignment within the same agency and commuting area. The role requires the ability to lift heavy items (up to 70 lbs) and may involve occasional temporary duty assignments.
