The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior M&A Manager to spearhead the origination and closing of acquisition and joint venture opportunities within the utility-scale onshore wind and solar market in Germany and across Europe. This role presents an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the company's ambitious growth targets, which include doubling their multi-GW operational capacity by 2028.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact in Germany for all business development initiatives, with a particular focus on joint ventures and mergers & acquisitions within the onshore wind and solar sectors.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive 3-5 year strategic plan to accelerate the company's onshore wind and solar portfolio expansion in Germany.
  • Manage the entire purchase process for wind and solar projects, encompassing the negotiation of project development agreements and project purchase agreements.
  • Coordinate due diligence, legal, and financial activities essential for closing deals.
  • Prepare compelling business cases, investment memorandums, and proposals for the investment committee, effectively presenting to senior management to secure funding.
  • Identify promising business opportunities within the German renewable energy market.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of proven experience in project or business development within the renewable energy sector, with a demonstrated track record of managing the acquisition and purchase of projects, portfolios, and companies.
  • In-depth understanding of mergers & acquisitions (M&A) and joint venture structures.
  • Exceptional networking and negotiation skills.
  • Fluency in German; English proficiency is highly desirable.
