Lead GaN Device Engineer

Overview of the Position:

As a Senior/Principal Device Engineer (m/f/d), you will be an integral part of our innovative GaN R&D team, playing a key role in our capability to effectively manufacture GaN devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead the design and simulation of power devices
  • Create and manage GaN device designs and layouts utilizing layout tools and/or GaN device concepts through TCAD tools
  • Conduct benchmarking and gain insights into competitor technologies
  • Work closely with product, reliability, and application engineers to devise GaN technology solutions that enhance product performance, quality, and meet customer specifications
  • Evaluate all product facets from design to manufacturing while ensuring an effective cost structure

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • PhD or equivalent in Experimental Physics, Electronics Engineering, or a related field
  • Extensive knowledge of power semiconductor devices, particularly wide band gap GaN HEMTs
  • Demonstrated experience in the design of power semiconductor devices, especially wide band gap GaN HEMTs
  • Proficient with layout tools (e.g., Cadence, Klayout) or TCAD tools (preferably Synopsys Sentaurus)
  • Strong ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and influence stakeholders across all levels
  • Collaborative team player with excellent problem-solving abilities and a commitment to continuous improvement
