We are seeking a Policy and Government Affairs Principal to join our team in the DACH region. This is a senior role that will involve developing and executing a comprehensive government relations and policy strategy for Via at all levels of government.
The successful candidate will have at least 7 years of relevant experience and will be able to juggle several issues at once. They will be a strategic thinker and day-to-day executor who can effectively consider and solve both short and long-term problems.
The Policy and Government Affairs Principal will be responsible for:
- Proactively initiating and cultivating relationships with key policymakers and their staffs
- Developing and advocating for Via's positions on legislation or regulations that will impact Via's success in particular markets
- Effectively representing Via and its vision for the improvement of cities to the broader political and policy community
- Drafting official written material, such as op-eds, blog posts, policy proposals, and comments on regulations
- Managing public policy firm and consultant engagements on targeted projects
- Representing the company at policy conferences and other forums
The ideal candidate will have native-level German and will be able to quickly get up to speed on policy and geographic areas that are new to them. They will be a self-starter who takes action and achieves tangible results.
