The Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) is an interdisciplinary research centre of the University of Luxembourg, dedicated to conducting fundamental and translational research in Systems Biology and Biomedicine. Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Laboratory Technician to join our Neuroinflammation group, led by Prof. Michael Heneka. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the group's daily lab operations, including ordering lab supplies, sample organization, and documentation. Key responsibilities will include assessing in vivo imaging of intracerebral cell activity using multi-photon laser scanning microscopy and other imaging techniques, as well as analyzing acquired data. Additionally, the candidate will assess animal behavior and learning and memory function using sophisticated video-based and classical learning and memory paradigms.
Requirements- Bachelor or Master degree (or equivalent) with wet-lab experience in microscopy, mouse models of neurodegenerative diseases, and molecular and cellular biology techniques
- Highly reliable and precise working style
- Good organizational skills and willingness to work independently
- Basic computer skills for electronic record keeping and generation of work summaries
- Attention to detail, especially accurate data entry and sample handling
- Communication in English is essential, both written and spoken
