The Role

Rakuten Kobo is seeking a skilled Software Engineer III to join our dynamic Web team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality features for our users.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deploy web applications using JavaScript, React, HTML, and CSS.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements and create comprehensive test plans.
  • Perform regression testing to ensure software stability after changes or updates.
  • Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues, providing detailed bug reports.
  • Monitor the health of the application after release.
The Skillset:

Required:

  • Proven experience as a JavaScript Engineer.
  • Knowledge of client-side single-page applications using a modern framework such as React.
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
  • Experience with Git.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD and different testing strategies and techniques.
  • Comfortable with and enthusiastic about learning new technologies.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.

Nice to Haves:

  • Test Automation using WebDriver.
  • Working with GitLab, GitHub, AzDo.
  • Knowledge of Jest, Webpack, yarn.
  • Writing shell scripts.
  • Working with Gitlab CI/CD.
